{"id":1098,"date":"2016-12-10T20:30:21","date_gmt":"2016-12-10T20:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=1098"},"modified":"2016-12-10T02:12:59","modified_gmt":"2016-12-10T02:12:59","slug":"tstc-campuses-hold-fall-commencement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=1098","title":{"rendered":"TSTC Campuses Hold Fall Commencement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(WACO) \u2013 More than 480 graduates received certificates and associate degrees at Texas State Technical College\u2019s Fall 2016 Commencement held Friday, Dec. 9, at the Waco Convention Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students from TSTC\u2019s campuses in Waco, Williamson County, North Texas and Fort Bend County took part in the ceremony. The Waco campus had 449 graduates, Williamson County had 19 graduates, North Texas had 18 graduates and Fort Bend County had two graduates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of the graduates either have jobs or career offers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hobie Horrell, 20, of Edgewood graduated with an associate degree in Diesel Equipment Technology. He described his new job working on diesel equipment at Autoworks Sales and Service in Edgewood as a good opportunity to work in his hometown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt feels good to get my life started being that I\u2019m 20,\u201d Horrell said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salvador Ceja, 20, of Mansfield said he was excited to receive his associate degree in Diesel Equipment Technology. He will soon start a job at Warner Enterprises Inc. in Dallas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt has been awesome at TSTC,\u201d Ceja said. \u201cYou get to make some good money in my field.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some graduates are still making plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ty Webb, 20, of Corpus Christi graduated with two associate degrees in Instrumentation Technology and Electrical Power and Controls. He chose the fields to study because of his relatives\u2019 work. Webb said his time at TSTC was a challenge but one he enjoyed.
