{"id":1646,"date":"2017-06-02T15:45:26","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=1646"},"modified":"2017-06-02T15:45:26","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:45:26","slug":"tstc-brings-job-opportunities-to-fort-bend-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=1646","title":{"rendered":"TSTC Brings Job Opportunities to Fort Bend County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(FORT BEND) &#8211; The Brazos Center, Texas State Technical College\u2019s second and newest building in Fort Bend County, is on track to open in August 2017, and new faculty and staff are needed to fill classrooms and offices.<a href=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Computer-Instructor-Teach-5x7-72dpi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1648 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Computer-Instructor-Teach-5x7-72dpi-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"Computer Instructor Teach 5x7 72dpi\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Computer-Instructor-Teach-5x7-72dpi-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Computer-Instructor-Teach-5x7-72dpi.jpg 504w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>TSTC will hire approximately 40 faculty and staff members, including instructors, student recruiters, and custodial and maintenance workers.<\/p>\n<p>Rhiannon Hastings, TSTC\u2019s Human Resources department manager, said they are ready to begin the interviewing and hiring processes immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking to fill our positions quickly with qualified candidates,\u201d said Hastings. \u201cWe\u2019re looking for people with experience in their field who are dedicated to helping students succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hastings said she encourages qualified candidates from the local community as well as TSTC alumni to apply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a brand-new campus, giving our new hires an opportunity to forge a new way,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are one TSTC, but each campus has its own culture that\u2019s defined by its people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hastings added that those who work for TSTC have the chance to inspire and change lives.<\/p>\n<p>TSTC is also a state institution, meaning faculty and staff are considered state employees who can take advantage of competitive pay and benefits packages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a chance to be part of a wonderful company with a great future in Fort Bend County,\u201d said Vice Chancellor and Chief Execution Officer Randy Wooten. \u201cWe are looking for qualified folks to join our mission in helping our students achieve the American dream of success and a great job that will build prosperous futures for themselves and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new openings are a result of technologies being added to TSTC\u2019s Fort Bend County campus. There are already 10 technologies with certificate and associate degree tracks offered, and the Brazos Center will hous<a href=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1647 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW-300x151.jpg\" alt=\"FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW\" width=\"300\" height=\"151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW-300x151.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW-768x388.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW-1024x517.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW-624x315.jpg 624w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/FBC-Bldg-2sm-LOW.jpg 1189w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>e four additional programs: Electrical Lineworker Technology, Robotics and Industrial Automation Technology, Electrical Power and Controls Technology and Environmental Technology \u2013 Compliance Specialization.<\/p>\n<p>Wooten said TSTC is looking for faculty who have real, relevant and recent experience in their field and want to pass those skills on to the next generation and for staff who want to be part of a team they can be proud of in a great place to work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese new programs, along with our current technologies, quickly lead to great, in-demand jobs with high salaries,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re looking for smart, energetic people for a variety of positions.
