(HARLINGEN) – Darryl Klu is pursuing his General Academic Core at Texas State Technical College and currently boasts a 3.5 grade-point average. The Dallas native expects to complete his academics in Spring 2018.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The 18-year-old said he chose to attend TSTC because it is affordable and close to home. Klu added that he plans on making the best of his college experience and since finishing his first year in college he is motivated to become active on cam\"Darryl<\/a>pus by becoming a member of the Anime Manga Gamers Club.<\/p>\n

What are your plans after graduation?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

After I graduate I plan on transferring to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor\u2019s degree in Speech Language Pathology and Communication Disorders to become a speech therapist.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your dream job?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

My dream is to be able to help people overcome obstacles that come with hearing issues, because without communication and hearing it is difficult to establish the relationships and trust we need in life. In addition, I would like to own a record label and help people achieve their musical dreams. Music is a hobby for me and has always been a part of my life.<\/p>\n

What has been your greatest accomplishment while at TSTC?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In high school I was on the honor roll, and being able to carry that over to college has been a huge achievement for me. Because of my hard work and studying, I have the honor of being on the dean\u2019s list.<\/p>\n

What greatest lesson have you learned about yourself or life?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I have learned that it is important to be yourself; not be a follower, but a leader; and do what you are passionate about.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Who at TSTC has had the most influence on your success?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s difficult to name only one person because all of the people I have met at TSTC, from my instructors to peers, have taught me something different.<\/p>\n

What is your advice for future TSTC students?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I want to tell students to stay out of trouble, go to class and do all of your work. This is your future, and it is too important to gamble with it. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
