They can be found inside manufacturing and distribution centers and state-of-the-art factories and at Texas State Technical College.<\/p>\n<p>Students can now enroll in Robotics Technology, one of four new programs being offered at TSTC\u2019s Fort Bend County campus, and learn how to program and operate a fast-growing robotic population.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur program offers students a path to learning cutting-edge automated system technologies in the industry,\u201d said TSTC\u2019s State Department Chair of Instrumentation Technology Bob Lovelace.<\/p>\n<p>Robotics Technology is a five-semester program in which students learn about automated manufacturing processes, the role of robots and support equipment through instruction in areas such as motion programming, conveyor systems and computer networking.<\/p>\n<p>Students in the program will also receive hands-on, real-word experience in the class with the opportunity of setting up industrial robots and designing and building electromechanical <a href=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2077 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"Robotics Technology student\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7-768x549.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7-1024x731.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/TSTC-RobotsTechnology-5x7-624x446.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>control systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur students will train with the most used industrial robots in the industry,\u201d said Lovelace. \u201cBecause of our training they will be able to be successful in any manufacturing job they find themselves in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lovelace added that a career in robotics can be diverse and gives graduates an array of options when job searching. He also proudly stated that this type of accomplishment has been evident with the Robotic Technology program in Waco since 1999.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe demand for highly-skilled technicians is growing,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd we provide the best entry-level technicians money can buy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Graduates from TSTC\u2019s Robotics Technology can expect to find jobs as robotic technicians, electro-mechanical technicians, mechanical engineering technicians and electromechanical equipment assemblers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe put as much emphasis on putting people to work, as we do putting them in the classroom,\u201d said Lovelace. \u201cIt is this effort that makes TSTC students and our funding model successful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TSTC has an outcome-based funding model meaning TSTC gets paid based on students\u2019 job placement and earnings after they graduate, rather than initial enrollment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur students have no limits on where they can go after getting a degree from TSTC,\u201d said Lovelace. \u201cAnd in this new program it\u2019s no different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Robotics Technology and to apply and register anytime, visit tstc.edu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(FORT BEND) &#8211; Robots are a way of the future.
