(HARLINGEN) – Nisa Rosas is an Education and Training student at Texas State Technical College. The Los Fresnos native expects to earn her associate degree this month and is an active member of the TSTC Intramural Sports Club.\"Nisa<\/a><\/p>\n

The 20-year-old said teaching has always been a passion. She began volunteering in high school at local elementary schools as a tutor through a program called Ready, Set, Teach; and she hopes to continue to make a difference in students\u2019 lives for many years to come.<\/p>\n

What are your plans after graduation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

After I graduate I plan on working toward a bachelor\u2019s degree in Education at Texas A&M University-Kingsville through TSTC\u2019s University Center.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your dream job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I want to begin my career by teaching at the elementary level, but ultimately I want to open a daycare\/learning center.<\/p>\n

What has been your greatest accomplishment while at TSTC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My greatest accomplishment is being in college, period. I\u2019m a first-generation college student and this is not only a big achievement for me, but also my family.<\/p>\n

What greatest lesson have you learned about yourself or life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lesson I have learned in life is that education is important. I\u2019ve been witness to how tough life can be without a college education or career, especially financially. So my goal is to break the cycle and graduate from college so I can create a better life.<\/p>\n

Who at TSTC has influenced your success the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All of my instructors have made a difference in my life, but the one that has influenced my success the most is my Education and Training Instructor Miriam Aguila. She is a prime example of how education can change lives. She makes a difference in my life every day when she shares her experiences and knowledge. She motivates me to keep going.<\/p>\n

What is your advice for future TSTC students?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My advice for future TSTC students is to not give up. Your education is important so you\u2019ll have a better future. So, follow your dreams and make your goals a reality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
