{"id":2626,"date":"2018-03-06T21:00:07","date_gmt":"2018-03-06T21:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=2626"},"modified":"2018-03-07T02:14:57","modified_gmt":"2018-03-07T02:14:57","slug":"tstc-program-receives-truck-donation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.tstc.edu\/?p=2626","title":{"rendered":"TSTC Program Receives Truck Donation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(RED OAK) \u2013 The Diesel Equipment Technology program at Texas State Technical College in North Texas recently received a 2009 Freightliner Cascadia truck valued at $10,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The donation was made by the south Dallas location of Premier Truck Group. Jeff Wicks, assistant service manager, said the donation was made because of a customer who gave the truck\u2019s title to the business after he could not pay for repairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe ended up making the repairs and getting it running and then donating,\u201d Wicks said. \u201cWe knew TSTC would appreciate it and that it would be a training tool relevant to what we do with the technology that is applicable for what we do. The students could learn on something that could help them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TSTC Provost Marcus Balch said the heavy vehicle would be used for lessons in electronics, brake systems and other diesel components.
